Mental health and entrepreneurship
Being an entrepreneur is amazing on one hand. You have your own business, you make the rules, you reap all the rewards. But on the other hand, you also deal with all the hardships that come with it and it can become very lonely sometimes. Taking notice of your own mental health is so important to not only yourself but those around you that may count on you. This is a great article touching on some of the things that go along with mental health and entrepreneurship.
72% of entrepreneurs are directly or indirectly affected by mental health issues compared to just 48% of non entrepreneurs. That’s according to a study by the National Institute of Mental Health. 49% of entrepreneurs deal with mental health issues directly while only 32% of others experienced them. Similarly, 23% of entrepreneurs have family members who face these issues compared to just 16% of others with family members who face these same types of issues.
